With just two hundred people, one pub and a whole lot of wilderness, spending a summer on the Isle of Jura isn't for everyone...but if you think you'll like it, you'll probably love it. Working on Jura is not just about becoming part of our strong hotel team, but part of the wider community of the island too.

We only employ energetic, articulate and interested individuals with an infallible work ethic, solid, relevant experience, fluent English and great references. You must also have an NI number and UK bank account and be prepared to work six days a week.

Housekeeper

THE ROLE
​
Working as part of the housekeeping team to clean guest bedrooms, the pub, hotel lounges and common areas.
Cleaning the campsite shower-block.
Being part of the wider hotel team and diving in wherever needed.
Depending on skill set, doing several additional shifts a week as breakfast and/or evening waiting.
​
Running the in-house laundry including doing much of the ironing, operating the rotary iron.

Housekeeping Supervisor
​
THE ROLE
​
Leading the housekeeping team - organising the rota according to business requirements,
taking responsibility for the team's actions, identifying development needs of team members and training appropriately, giving feedback where necessary.
​
Ordering housekeeping supplies.
Organising staff accommodation changeovers.
​
Being an active member of the housekeeping team by doing all elements of the Housekeeper role (see above)

Sous Chef

THE ROLE
​
Deputising on HC's day off: motivating & leading the team, costing up, creating specials and menu items, ordering stock.
​
Share of breakfast shifts (usually two per week).
​
Training other team members.
​
Running the pass and stepping into other sections as required.

Following HACCAP procedures.
